Theodore Roosevelt High School

The New Aspiring Teachers Academy at Roosevelt will open in the fall of 2020 for students who want to move from their classroom desks to the head of the class, in a teaching career! Students will learn the fundamentals of education, from Early Childhood up to the level of becoming a High School teacher. Our students will participate in internships much like college-level student teaching, and even qualify for college credit towards teacher certification!

Chicago Public Schools and the City of Chicago are promising jobs as teachers in CPS to anyone who completes this program and gets their teaching certificate along with their college degree!

In this program, Teaching Academy students will learn to be a teacher, create lesson and unit plans, visit local elementary schools to implement their plans, and more. If you’re serious about teaching, our program makes the grade!
